Workshops Programme - 2024

Phone: 015242 41357; email: info@broadrake.co.uk

Here is our popular workshop programme for 2024.

Do get in touch if you would like to book one of these courses or if you have any questions.

It's lovely to spend a whole day with like-minded people, all absorbed in learning a new craft to create something beautiful that you can take home with you. Workshop days are full of chat and laughter during the learning process making it a day to remember.

Oval Baskets - "I really enjoyed making my oval basket and will certainly be returning to try my hand at other types of baskets so please put me on your mailing list."
Cleft Oak Stools - "Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you & Phil for a fabulous day making the stool and hosting me so well, I really enjoyed the whole day.... "

Our workshops also make great gifts - why not treat a friend or relative to a workshop for a birthday outing with a difference. We can offer vouchers for specific courses if you know what you want, or buy a voucher to spend on any of the courses we run ourselves. (Excludes workshops booked direct with the tutor ie. letter carving, scything & spoon carving.)

Many of the workshops take place inside a renovated barn with original beams and excellent facilities. If it's sunny and warm enough we may lunch outside to take advantage of the amazing views all around of Ingleborough, Whernside and Ribblehead. The scything and greenwood workshops take place in unheated outbuildings so we advise layers in case it's a bit chilly, although the processes should keep you warm.

If you are travelling any distance and would like accommodation you could always stay here the bunkbarn. It's very comfortable with excellent facilities at a very reasonable price. There is a good kitchen if you want to cater for yourself, or eat out at one of the local pubs.

If you are looking for a venue for your own course or special interest group why not consider Broadrake. The barn is available for residential or daytime use and can sleep up to 20 with excellent kitchen facilities for catering. The open plan upstairs space is suitable for meetings and activities such as art groups, music, yoga etc. If you have any ideas you want to discuss or would to visit to see if the barn is suitable please get in touch.
