For 2025, we've decided to take a break from organising a full set of workshop tutors and bookings to have more time away with our young grandkids as they grow up. We've really enjoyed holding workshops at Broadrake since 2015 but both our daughters live very far away and we need more opportunities to visit them in between our weekend bunkbarn bookings. We hope you understand our decision. We've had a great time over the past 10 years meeting so many interesting and like-minded folk. It's been a fantastic networking opportunity too and we've hosted a total of 913 workshop places!!
We'll take this opportunity to promote our tutors who also offer workshops at other venues & some in their own workspaces:
Phil Bradley - Willow and Green Woodworking Instagram #philbradleybasketmaker
Anna Turnbull - Willow, Baskets and Sculptural www.biteabout.co.uk
Adrian Wood - Blacksmith www.awartistblacksmiths.co.uk
John Harrison - Pen and Ink www.drawninyorkshire.com
Steve Tomlin - Scything and Greenwood Crafts - stevetomlincrafts.co.uk
There are also venues offering a full set of workshops with many different crafts and I can personally recommend both
the following places in the north of England:
Quirky Workshops at Greystokes near Penrith - www.quirkyworkshops.co.uk
Artison workshops in Masham - www.artison.co.uk
Broadrake will of course be happy to provide a venue for a tutor to organise their own participants and bookings, mid-week, in between our weekend bookings. We already do this for some of our workshops eg scything, lettercarving and we include drinks and some home-baking too in the venue hire. Please note that if some of your group wished to stay overnight then there would be no daytime venue hire. Please get in touch if you are interested in running your own workshop or arty/crafty get-together at Broadrake.
